Genesis
A sanguine
fruit of passion
slipped off
its lofty perch
Upon my sleeping head
it fell
jarring me out
of my dream
of apes
A plate of heavenly
equations
floated by me
with a side of
gravy-laden
mashed gasses
Hungry
I reached out
to sup my mid-day's meal
But this primordial soup
would not be held
by my holey spoon
Beget and begat
I spit and I spat
The aroma
of spoiled juices
rose from that
half-eaten carcass
fallen
Starving and
by instinct
I ravaged the remainder
Potential sin
dripped
from my slackened jaws
sated
Toxins seized control
of my self-will
Evil's
molecular structure
double-helixed
my DNA
In Newton's magic
does Darwin delight
with Babylonian
pleasure
Beware!
The path to God
Cannot commence
In drug-induced visions -
Amphetamine dreams
refined
From the sugar-sweet fields
of America's
homegrown Cain
