Dear Dinner Guests,

You are cordially invited to a dinner party!

I am preparing a cookbook for publication, based on my professional cooking experiences these past 15 years.  From my beginning inspiration to cook after seeing the movie Babette's Feast, to having my own catering company (The World on a Platter) to producing and hosting a cooking TV show (Talking With Your Mouth Full), to teaching, to restaurant reviews (Lavender Magazine), I am now ready to share these recipes with the world.

But I need your help.  I want to have photos of various dishes in the cookbook, and wished to do something completely different.  This is where you come in.  I am hosting a dinner specifically to shoot photos - not just of the dishes, but of the entire dining experience.  I will also include photos in the cookbook from the dinner, with a short story of the dinner to accompany the photo(s).  I will be asking all participants to sign a Likeness Release form, which should about as complicated as it will get.

I have to limit the number of participants, so if you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible.

I am also asking for money.  This is to cover costs associated with the dinner.  I am discounting this first dinner, as I am always one to anticipate bumps the first time I do anything, and this is definitely a first. You can actually pay online - there is a place on the evite for you to submit payment.  It is very cool, and easy - please use it, if you like.  I will be conducting four of these dinners, around the country - next is in Minneapolis, then Boston, then Las Vegas, so if you enjoy yourself, know you have another chance to participate - different menus, guests and experiences await!

Things to consider, if you decide to join us for this unique experience:

1)  Dress comfortably.  The dinner may last as long as four hours, and you'll want to be comfortable.  Radleigh Valentine has graciously offered his home as the site for the dinner, so you'll be in a comfortable setting.  Also, I suggest not wearing black or white, tiny prints/patterns don't photograph well either - fall colors would be great.  You will be photographed, so please keep that in mind when considering your comfort factor!

2)  Please make sure to respond to our request to know allergies, and food dislikes.

3)  There will be wines to accompany each course - reds and whites, and a dessert wine, depending on course.  Please let us know if you would like us not to set a place for wine.  We will offer other beverages for those guests.

4) Guests will receive a bound copy of the dinner' recipes, and an autographed copy of the cookbook, when published.

5)  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.  You can contact myself (303-995-0030), or Susan Shangle at 508-529-3338.

6)  Once again, please visit the Evite site, via the link here.  All details will be there, as well as the opportunity to accept the invitation, maps to the house, etc.

I look forward to sharing my food and my time with all who wish to participate.   I think this is really going to be a hoot!

Your friend,

Bob
