Television Activities

I have been know, in my distant past, to have been involved in televised activities! Thanks to a (now) wonderful friend of mine, Susan Peck, I produced a couple of television shows for Bloomington Public Television (in Minnesota).

It was after having run for State Representative in Bloomington that I first met Susan, who ran (still runs) the place. I was working at Williams Sonoma at the time (my third job, at that very moment), when I thought I'd ask my co-workers if anyone was interested in helping me do a cooking show. Susan was excited, because noone was currently doing a cooking show.  Thus was the start of "Talking With Your Mouth Full".

"Talking With Your Mouth Full" was my attempt to combine a cooking show with a talk show. It was a lot of fun, and it was a TON of work. I'm not even sure how many episodes I ultimately produced, but I am very proud of them, even if they seem amature-ish.

Now, the reason I am including a page specifically to address this aspect of my past. It has to do with technology, and the superbness with which Susan still runs Bloomington Public Television. Not only does she still run my cooking shows, but the station streams live with RealMedia. So, if one of my shows is playing, you can see it, regardless of where in the world you are! Having said that, BPTV is a hotbed of superb public programming, so please stop and check out their other programs.

I also produced (didn't appear in, however) a show called "Voice of Independence", with Dean Barkley as the host. I was heavily involved in the formation and development of the Independence Party of Minnesota, and this was the part I could really help with - getting the word out. And Dean was quite compelling as a talk show host!

Lastly, I would love to embed the RealMedia link for the station here, but the best I can do is get you as close as possible. Take a look - they really do have some fun programming! Check out the programming guide, and go from there!

In the meantime, I am looking into developing original programming here in Denver. Let you all know as it develops!
